Custom Book Shelf by Tall Paul

So my wife buys books (and Shoes) like I buy cigars. She has a cheap crappy pressed board book shelf that is stuffed and ready to claps. There is a growing pile of books in front of it. We also have quite a bit of DVD's and blue rays. Since being homer I need to keep myself busy so I told here I would build her a nice book shelf and she looked at me with that o dear god look... 
 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 
This where I am right now. I now need to pull all the shelves and shelf holders. Putty all the holes and stain this bad boy. I am very happy with the way i came out so far.
 
On to the finishing touches...

Paul - Nicely done, these last two projects were great and the progress shots are a cool way to watch it transform.  I love doing new projects, but when my wife is continually adding to the list, it gives me project ADD and I tend to leave a few unfinished here and there.

Nice work, Paul, but do you think the pine will hold the weight without sagging?

Only time will tell. The shelves are removable and can be replaced if any sag. I filled one of the large shelves with the biggest books and it had no sag. Most of the books she has are small novels that are at the most 6x10 the shelves for the books are 12" deep so the added width should help with the support. I can add supports to the backs of the shelves but I like the look of just the plank.
