We have only a couple trips planned this year, but thinking of going to either Mt. Rushmore (again) or Arcadia national park. But likely mt Rushmore.

Should have specified…going to mt. Rushmore next year. Have to plan that a year in advance to get a nice location. Custer, deadwood..badlands all are fun

Went to Arcadia 3 years ago in August. What a fkg nightmare! I’m not a big fan of crowds and that place was nuts. I expected downtown to be busy but you needed a reservations to drive up Cadillac Mtn and there were way too many tourists in the woods to call it hiking. The whole area is absolutely beautiful but my suggestion for next time is not to go peak season.

I had a similar experience at the Grand Canyon. I was dumbfounded by the steady stream of people walking the rim. And with my analytical mind I just had to ask how many nimrods fall off every year? The ranger just said "too many"

Over the Edge: Death in Grand Canyon is an interesting read. They always place in bold print words like "alone, solo", etc. indicating the careless and preventable circumstances.

When we went with the kids, I think I saw more Elk than I did tourists.
 
Just had a massive dinner at Ember & Alma in Marlborough at a private event with St. George Distillery--America's first craft distiller; it goes back to 1982. Their green chile vodka in a Bloody Mary has to be amazing. They have a great portfolio. I tried about half of it tonight, including their single barrel malt whiskey.if you live in or are visiting Massachusetts you should seriously consider visiting this craft cocktail bar that specializes in Brazilian food. I'm not sure which is better, the Brazilian food or their drinks.
