Yep... the Box is relaxing in the warm Hawaiian sunshine! Bwahahahahaha! Ok.. it's enjoying the comforts of my cigar storage closet but I do take it out to see the view!

I've received several PMs from ALT and still awaiting the final instructions. I've sent him my addy twice now and I'm sure he's in the process of sending me a prepaid mailing label so I can slap it on and get this out to the next passer. I did offer to make the addy label & pay for the postage and I could either get reimbursed by ALT or I'd be happy with grabbing 1 stick out of the pass for my trouble but was declined on both offers so I'm just waiting like everyone else.

At this point... I haven't opened the box and it's intact as to how I recieved it. However sent this to me.... please let me know if the cigars were on the drier side and need to be humidified while we're waiting. As I said... I haven't done anything with the box but if the cigars need some humidity please LMK. As I've mentioned before... I'm helping out because I hate to see anyone's pass messed up but I'm not going out of my way on this especially with the lines at the Post Office during this time of year and it is clear that I'm not benefitting from this at all.

When it got here and left here the sticks were in good condition. However aren't we going on 2 weeks now? Perhaps a peek inside would be a good idea :rolleyes:

ALT, jumping ugly on CohibaSurfer was a pretty stupid thing to do on your part.

This BS around here of the pass "host" reigning supreme is outright ridiculous, EVERYONE on this board whether they are actual participants in a certain pass or not, has a "stake" in everything that goes on with passes here.

This whole board (including me) is indebted to CS, MMM & others who check in on the passes and comment when P/T's appear to be out of whack. Many times they are honest mistakes and sometimes they are not. The "host" may miss things (like I did) so it's always best to welcome input from all members of this board on passes rather than copping an attitude like you did.

I'll respectfully disagree with emo and others who advocate working things out with PM's. I say "BS" to that too, put it out in the open for all to see instead of these behind the scenes hidden dialouges. I keep my PM box full on purpose primarily for that reason. If someone's got something to say, POST IT, we're all adults here and should have thick enough skins by now without having to sulk about having "feelings hurt"

You also seem to have been too distracted (by your continued jousting with CS and closing the barn door with eleuthardt when the horses got out weeks ago) to correct your pass order sheet to omit Wade (who dropped out a heck of a long time ago) and wouldn't ya know, the pass gets sent to him and you seem to be having yet another one of your "communications breakdowns" once again (you've blown off my PM's in the past too ;) )

And NO you ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY CANNOT fax, copy or reproduce those pre-printed USPS labels, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS on the label.

At this point, I would highly recommend that you offer Wade a couple of sticks out of the pass for the inconvenience you've caused him and the rest of the pass participants with your little screw up ;)

I simply need an email address to send this file to. That is all I need. Please relax. This is a new file, a PDF, that simply needs to be printed and stuck on the package. That is all.

I want to state this one final time. I made the decision to let the first P/T's go based on INPUT FROM OTHERS ON THE BOARD!!!!! I don't know how to explain that any more. What everyone is trying to say is that when I have input from several on the board, including well-respected and knowledgable members of this board, that I have to automatically change it when ONE person complains. That is what everyone is saying. I don't think that should be the case. And to say that the original P/T's are the same as Eluthardts is totally stupid.

I have to go for now, as I am at work and really shouldn't even be on this computer. Will check back for more "Flame ALostTexan" at 3 p.m. EST.

Why don't you order a UPS call tag so that Wade doesn't have to deal with the post office and holiday travel?

Stop nickel and diming this problem and seek an appropriate resolution.
 
There is an e-mail section under the "communicate" bar, though I don't see a anything that allows you to do attachments, I could be wrong on that though. ??? ??? ??? Worse comes to worse, you could use that to contact him for it.

I am going to explain this again. When 5 people, including well-respected members of the board, say one thing, and 1 person says something different, it doesn't mean you have to change everything. I was the first to admit "I didn't think they were bad, but maybe I should run this by others". It wasn't my-way-or-the-highway, but quite the opposite. This was not the decision of 1, but the decision of many.

As for not correcting the pass list, I thought I had. I honestly thought I had, but I guess I didn't. Regardless, Wade has the box now. Everyone here acts like Wade is going to make off with the pass. I don't feel that way. We have been trading PM's back and forth over the past week or so. I know that he is busy, and so am I, and it may take a couple of days for us to get a message across. This will be taken care of. I have absolutely no doubts in this.

Let me explain again what has transpired on the shipping. Wade offered to pay for it in return for a repayment, or cigars. I didn't want him to be out anything on it. I paid for a shipping slip on it. Turns out it was for the incorrect weight. We were both aware of this. I thought I could either fax it or reprint it, which, turns out, I was wrong. So I put in a request with the post office to refund it and repurchase it.

Now, the first time, I had just used my return address, as I didn't have Wade's. That was where the original screw up started, because, as I learned from Wade, the original/desination addresses are important when dealing with Hawaii. Something about zones and stuff that Wade knows about and I don't. When I tried to repurchase the slip, I must have deleted his home address, because he said he had sent it, and I didn't have it. I believe he sent it, but I didn't have it, so I must have deleted it. When I got his address, I bought a new slip, and made it into a PDF file to send to Wade, so that he can print it out, slap it on the box, and ship it out.

This is taken care of, I just need an email address from Wade, which I am sure I will get. Again, I know Wade is busy, just like everyone else, and that we will reach up very soon. I am not worried about this, because I know Wade isn't going to pocket the box.

And to those that have suggested sending the file through the CP profile, that doesn't work, because you can't a) send an attachment, or b) view the actual email address for security reasons. I would have done that, but it won't work.

MMM and Gr8full, thanks for the advice for a "scheduled pickup". I have told Wade that if he wants to do this, I can take care of it, or he can take care of it, or whatever, but I know that for me, this option would never work, because I can't schedule my life around the mailman, and I am sure that Wade can't do this. Like I have said, if he wants to do it, that is fine, and we can work that out.



Guys, I am not fighting this or trying to be a stick in the mud. Everything is fine. If you are worried that the pass is never going to move further, then you can think that way, but I don't. Maybe I am overly patient, but I guess that is just me. This was my screw-up, and when Wade gets to it, he will. I know he is not trying to be a stick in the mud, either. We have communicated several times, and things are just fine, and will be taken care of...

My concern is for Wade; plain and simple. What a major headache for him to have to deal with this nonesense, especially at the holidays.

The last thing I would ever consider is ol' Salty Nuts asconding with the pass! I don't see where you get the impression that this is a concern for anyone who has posted to this thread since this latest cluster fock occured...

For Wade's sanity, I hope this gets resolved soon.
