I usually get my orders w/in a week of the shipping date from a very popular source. It's going on a month, so I'm waiting for the dreaded "letter" to come.
It's a waste of government resources if you ask me. I think they should spend their time looking for bombs and drugs and leave the almost legal CC's alone.
I sure hope Trump is a Cuban cigar smoker.
Damn, that's the first I've heard of in a loooong time. Hopefully the vendor takes care of you.Ordered some cigars late December 2020 early January 2021. The two tracking numbers have been in limbo, one leaving NY and the other leaving SC. Ordered some cigars from the same vendor for our group buy in February and those cigars got here in a couple of weeks.
Yesterday I check the mail and I have a letter from US Customs and Border Patrol. Daid letter stated that they had confiscated 50 cuban cigars. Was wondering if anyone had gotten their cigars confiscated lately? It had been a long time since I had heard of any confiscations.
Contacted vendor for resolution, will keep you posted.

Not surprising... When we went through our Global Entry interview he kept insisting it was a "trust" thing - in other words Customs trusted that we would claim anything, as we should, that we bring back into the country. Including contraband... The funny thing is - on at least two occasions I have declared both rum and cigars of Cuban origin (a few cigars and a few bottles) and they let me take them through Customs (I figured it was better than hiding them). I've never had them confiscated. I was stunned...I"ve had 2 shipments confiscated back in 2008 and 2009, HK origin. The vendor made everything right. But when my wife and I went to apply for Global Entry in 2015 the HSO officer interviewing me asked questions about it and at the endI was denied the global entry pass. Both were mailed to my work address so I don't know how they tied me to them.
I'm good with Clear and TSA approved.
Has anyone run into this issue?
I didn't admit to anything. I told them I know nothing about it. My wife was approved but I got the stink eye all the way home in the car. LOLSame has happened to many of my friends. I received one letter but had several shipments nabbed all in a few months all from the same vendor in OZ. Can’t remember what year but was probably same as you ‘08 or so. Planning on applying for global entry myself next year sometime and hoping i get lucky. Fully expectiing to be denied which is such bullshit. Haven’t ordered anything in years but if I do again I’ll use an alias which apparently keeps you off the radar.
Did you cop to it or deny it was you? Was your wife approved?
