Today's Smoke 2023

Padron Damaso No. 32 while watching The Spy Who Came In From the Cold

Both of these were purchased at the duty free shop in a German airport and sat in a humidor at 64% for the last year and a half. They were donated to me by a friend. Both were hard to keep lit. Both sucked. Didn't finish either one. The only thing in this humidor is one box of each of these. Humidity maintained by boveda packs.

Thoughts ?
Someone can correct me if i'm wrong, but long term storage should be in the 69% neighborhood. 64% is what you'd typically dry box at in preparation for smoking.

AVO Improvisation Series AVO Classic Covers 2015 Limited Edition

Got bestowed a portrait that used to hang in my old favorite cigar lounge I used to visit until it got banned in late 2021. Happy to keep it alive in spirit. God I miss that place.

LaRiqueza #4 .... great cigar, even better story.

I lost a NFL bet to Infinity and naturally, being a newbie, I was very concerned what to send someone like Brian.

I wasn't knowledgable about Cubans so I sent him some of my favorites including some 2008 Original Release #4's. A couple years later, Brian lost a NFL bet to me. After some weeks of not hearing from Brian, I called John @jfields and he informed me that Brian had passes away.

Brian had helped John start a new business and they became close. When Brian passed, his wife gave John some of Brians cigars. A few years later, I was at John and Donella's.

John gave me a partial box of Original Release #4's and said that Brian had labeled this box with my name.

I think this might be the last one!

RIP brother!

And thank you John!

And while I was composing this ..... the cigar is awesome!

Those aged beautifully! I wish Pete and Pepin could re-create the original magic of those. Even I would choose those over a lot of Cuban cigars.
