He's lying, I've seen his car and the last time I was down for an LI Herf, I snapped this picture of it.

Oh yes it is, sound it out there Charlie and tell me which was is correct unless you New Yorkers say it differently that in the rest of the country

You'd be right if I said "an Long Island Herf" but I said "an LI Herf" and there is indeed a difference.

You use "a" before words beginning with consonants and "an" before words beginning with vowels. Since the letter "L" is pronounced "el", "an" is correct, "a" is not :sign:

You SURE you wanna do battle with the Grammarian? :sign: :sign:

It is after all my member title on CS ;)

A guy at work gave me the nickname Brucer Magooser (pronounced Magoo Sir), which was shortened to Magooser. When I set up an aol account 7 years ago, I just went with maggs44 (my age at the time). I have many names I use for many different places.

I have so many different sign in names, passwords etc, that I have to keep em all written down.

I have a great passion for the jazz culture; its history, music and memorabilia.

Miles Davis , Charlie Mingus , Thelonious Monk

I read LI as Long Island the same as I would read NYC as New York City. I believe that most would agree.

I was going to go with my “on screen” name from my days in the porn industry "Buck Naked", but I figured with all the mooching that goes on here I would be sending out hundreds of my "best of, money shots" videos and cutting into the profits!

I'm just a horses ass.

I've trained and shown horses all my life since I was but an inkfant.

Nothing special here, first name initial and last name abbreviated.

When my wife and I met, she said I was a Brat, so I took the name Bratde98 in AIM, "Brat in 1998" and then when I started into the Cigar stuff, I used Puro and added the Brat, thus PuroBrat.

I am Purobrat on every cigar board. I also own the name Mike's Cigars on CF, but that was my first Cigar Board to sign up for and the word Puro was not yet a part of my lingo. I am just a newbie after all. :D Not only that, but someone informed me that the guy who owns the cigar web site "Mike's Cigars" might be unhappy with me, so I re-registered there with Purobrat as well.

SFG is my initials and '75 was the year that I was born in..thus...SFG75 :D

Not much thought went into mine. E for Eric (my first name) and then my last name (Shaw). When I set up a Yahoo account back in 1999, "Eshaw" was taken, so I just threw the 99 onto the end of it. I've used this screen name over on the Atlanta Braves board at Fanhome.com for a few years, so I used it when I started playing online poker. When I signed up here, I just used it again b/c I was used to it.

Wow...I said "used" four times in the last two sentences. I need a thesaurus. ;)

P'sha! Like they were any good :whistling: :sign:

Kirk, we've had this discussion......maybe I should start over with OlympiaFountainPreservation as my ID so you'll get a clue ;)

Cheers,
Dixie

What better than to develop a screen name based on the most bad-ass cigars of all time even if they'd weren't good they still be bad-ass just because of the kukri wielding gurkha soldier on the band.

Well, i dunno know if you can figure this out or not, but I like the river.

that'd be me, in a KAYAK! in Feb. on Lake Nick-A-Jack. Plus I've not been 21 for long, so boy is a good adj. I can act a little immature, right CC? :sign:

Nice story but you told me the REAL STORY was because your kayak flew off your car as you were driving down the road and smashed a guys windshield on his pick up truck who was following you. When you both pulled over to exchange information, he was so pissed, he said "You GAT DANG Kayakin' Boy, I'm gonna shove that little canoe so far up your a$$..........." and the rest of the sentence was filled with lots of swear words :0 Then there was somthing about him chasing you down Route 75 with his shotgun and something about buck shot in yer backside (and maybe a little Deliverance action in your backside too :D ) but I can't remember the rest of the details....

HA HA HA HA! Speaking of such a story....

the first kayak I ever had, we were young and stupid, and we had a 10 footer bungee'd down to a GMC Jimmy. Well, my friend, the driver, was passing a car, and when he hit 90, all we heard was BOOM!, and as I looked into the review mirror, I saw the kayak flying and flipping threw the air. Yes, flip and flip threw the air. Then it slams onto the ground, and the cars just keep on driving by it. It did this one more time before I got it home. Finally I was taught how to put a kayak on a car, and my 16ft. one has never come off. I love "the mayflower".

My nick came from my initials (MAC) and being a big guy hence bigmac.Everyone who knows me from school on up calls me either bigmac or bigmike.
