Today marks 4 years of sobriety for me! This makes me, my wife, and everybody else I know very happy! 😁
This is a truly tough life battle! Congrats on 4great years of sobriety. Keep the faith and always remember who your support is. Talk if needed. Prayers sent for continued success, my friend.

My wife has worked at the same company for over 20 years, and they have a round of layoffs about every two years. The last 2 weeks was the latest round. After much nail biting and uncertainty, she is off of the chopping block…for now. The company stated that they will revisit the situation again next quarter. So, we are quite happy that she was able to keep her job!

Is there any sort of severance package that makes waiting it out worth it? If after 20 years of loyal service, if I'm constantly worried that my employer is going to flick me away like an annoying flea, I'm already knee-deep in rejections from all of the places I've applied to. Eventually someplace is going to hire. Is she close to retirement there? I'm sorry that there is routine stress like that.
