It is well worth it. IMO there is nothing like a well aged habano. If I had the resources I would definitely age them myself. Since I don't, I buy them aged and don't mind paying a reasonable premium, 25% or less. If your fortunate you can sometimes find well aged stock for almost the same price...

I think a box of RASS is a good idea. The only good ones I've smoked had three years of age on them. Also, you can't find them with age on them at any vendors so if you want some that smoke nice you have to age them yourself.

I like the RS 12, but I like the Punch PC Del Punch even more. I really enjoy the Punch line, and since its not one of the most popular brands its easy to find them with some nice age.

I have not tried a Cuaba yet. Which one would you reccomend (except the Salomones). I checked out a couple vendors and it looks like 98s are plentiful and not too pricey, the Generosos, Tradicionales, and Divinos all for around $150.
