Big Pittsburgh Herf in OhiO

Is that the back of JFields head??? And is that blue bucket in the background the toilet??? And that blue cabin looks pretty small.... :p

From the Hillbilly HERF at Camp Stone.

JFields is the one pushing the broom. Mr. Stone wasn't kidding about making people clean up at his camp. The blue bucket was for any Brownies who might have wandered in.

This sounds like it's going to be a lot of fun. Looking forward to meeting everyone.

My 2 pennies on a couple things:

1. I think the cabin would be fun, but it doesn't sound like my little Mazada will make it to the front door. So if we go to the cabin I can leave my car at the Days Inn and someone can give me a lift the rest of the way. Just throwing that out there.

2. If we book too man BOTLs to do the cabin, what about going to Mountaineer Racetrack? Sounds like to would be pretty convenient for the NE Ohio, WV and most of the PA people, plus they are smoke friendly. While I would love to spend a weekend in Pitt, just thought I would float the casino idea out there.

Know of any cigar bars / lounges around there?

The blue barrel is for beer cans.

I would hate to miss out on meeting a BOTL or SOTL so if it goes a couple over the 15 mark due to last minute issues that is not a show stopper.

Jeff ~

what if the weather is rainy - can your cabin sit that many "inside"? I just don't want to over book!

O - Another suggestion if we go to Jeffs - BYO(B) (Beer / Bottle)...

The tarp allows us to stand by the fire regardless of weather.

Here's the cabin

Fugg it.. Put me down as being in on this.. I'll get a trade lined up for work. I need to meet some of you all.

You have been updated!!!! Glad you can make it!

Ok so right now we have 10 people committed.

Getting closer!

When:
Weekend of Feb 27th. HERF is Saturday the 28th.

Where:
Mr. Stone's (Jeff) cabin < 15-20 people. BYOB. bring your favorite or something you would like to share that some people may not have tried.

Theme:
Pittsburgh Pass - (Need to be there.) Everyone brings a box and passes it around and does a take/put - one of yours for one of theirs. You do not take something someone else put in because their box will get to you eventually anyway. Everyone leaves with a new box of goodies. So Bring at LEAST enough sticks to cover each person there, or to be safe bring a box.

Details:
There is a hotel about 5 miles from the HERF site for people staying overnight. You can go up Friday night for Saturday, or Just go there Saturday night after the HERF. Mr. Stone may have more details about the name of the hotel. I will ask him to post directions to his cabin in the forum post as well.

I'm in Columbus Ohio, but I am definitely interested, as is theroberthogan. We were just talking about this Friday at our own little HERF. Sounds like a good time, I will check back for details as they become available.

Edit: I am a strong iffy. As long as there are no conflicts with scheduling

Ok ~

So far this is the list. I will keep THIS POST updated as we get closer and people are added / dropped. See prior post as to where - when - theme.

Thanks!

Nice! Could use a double scotch tonight! Long day!

Find your way home ok??? You were sober "trying to get there"...not so much when you left!

~ t

HA - Ok - I'm a dumb ass! Thanks for pointing that out!!

~ t

Nah, you just haven't recovered from Saturday.

Went to my buddy's house in Treesdale. First thing he did was put a double martini in my hand. Long night.

x2

Had two 911 calls in the building. Had an 83 year old woman collapse in the hallway. She was sitting up against the wall. I sat next to her and she leaned on me until the EMT's got there and took over. This was about 45 minutes ago.

Had one of the office staff collapse this morning. Her heart stopped at one point. Unbelievable.

Still have 45 minutes to go in the day.

FWIW- first time I HERFED at Jeffs for the weekend it almost killed me. I think the third day in I was totally drunk by 11:30 AM and did not quit drinking until 2 the next morning. At one point I was so far gone I was actually trying to smoke from the lit end of the cigar.

On the way back home I got into Pittsburgh and was so brain dead stupid that I did not know where I was and had to call my wife to help me get home. ( I don't have one of those inaccurate GPS systems like gtadroptop :whistling: )

When I did get home, I told Dianne not to let me make any decisions about anything that day and I collapsed into my recliner. It seriously took me about a week to recover.

But what a damn good time it was! And I'm looking forward to this one.

For you NEWBS and lightweights - you have been warned. :0
