Thanks Jon, it was a sold IPA!
Thank you too Jon! I drank mine both last night! Excellent representation of a West Coast IPA!

Also thrououghly enjoying a Dry Dock Vanilla Porter as we speak. Thanks Jason!

That was the inspiration so I've read. Apparently the hops they used are very close to marijuana in aroma. A pinene is supposedly a thin marijuana joint. Salud!

Had a Summer Sandia - Watermelon Wheat beer today. It was ok but a little to bitter for me, especially when you think of a watermelon beer being slightly sweet. The flavor had some good sweet hints but to much bitter. I even switched glasses at one point and that seemed to help a little just not enough. Maybe its the wheat that I'm finding to be bitter. Oh well, another one for the chalkboard.

Are you well versed in craft beers?  I wouldn't imagine a watermelon wheat beer to be bitter.  Wheat doesn't usually lend bitterness to a beer.  Usually it adds a wheaty, yeasty quality.  Back when I considered myself a Bud Light man, any non-lite beer came across as bitter.  From Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, down to Sam Adams Boston Lager, to Bass Ale and Newcastle.  They all had way more bitterness than I was used to.  That's because beers like Budweiser and Coors aren't hoppy in the least and offer very little.  It's not that the new beers I was trying were super hoppy, it's just that I wasn't used to tasting hops at all because the beers I was used to didn't have any.

In less than hour, I will be enjoying a nice cold Sierra Nevada Torpedo.  Picked up a twelve pack on sale last weekend - great price from Total Wine.

Found a great butcher shop/restaurant with a fantastic beer selection.

Deschutes Hop Henge IPA
Boulevard Irish Ale
Deschutes Obsidian Stout

Paired these with a great charcuterie plate and fresh made hot links. Dynamite night.
