I like books, they have nice covers! And leather books look very intellectual on a shelf. Oh, do you mean read them? No, I don't read many books right now.
 
Anyone watched or started watching The Bear? I never worked in the food industry, but it’s got a good dynamic to it.

I’ve watched both Episodes of “The Captain” on ESPN+ and love it. I don’t care if you’re a Yankee fan or not, Jeter was a special player. I always get goose bumps watching his last game and his walk off hit.
 
Just finished my 3rd or 4th run through of the 2000s version of Battlestar Galactica. Easily one of my favorite sci-fi series of all time.

I watched "Day Shift" on Netflix last night with Jaime Foxx and Dave Franco. It was a fun, semi-original vampire comedy. Foxx, Franco, and Snoop Dogg... you know what you are getting into if you choose to watch this one.

I just finished watching "The Gray Man", also on Netflix. This is an adaptation of the Mark Greaney character, and it was significantly better than I expected it to be. Don't get me wrong -- it's nothing we haven't seen before: The World's Deadliest Government Assassin Now Being Hunted By His Own Government For Reasons Unknown To Him. It stayed relatively true to the source material, at least keeping important details of some sequences intact, even if a few settings were changed for artistic liberties on screen. I enjoyed it enough to hope that they make another one.

"Age Of Samurai" was pretty good, and quite entertaining as a history geek. It ends with the Battle of Sekigahara, which is where "Musashi" begins, so I loved that personal tie-together for me.

Grey man was awesome. Very well done. But pretty much just Bourne Identity. Budget for that movie had to be pretty damn high.

Tied with Red Notice for most expensive movie Netflix has produced, at $200 million. As said, it was nothing not seen before, but it is straight from a book series that is, in itself, an overdone trope. I've read all of the books in the series (there are currently five, I believe), and it stayed true enough for me. Funny enough, this is one character who I did envision as Tom Cruise when reading. Ryan Gosling did fantastic, but I totally pictured "Collateral" Tom Cruise in my mind.
 
My wife and I went and watched "Elvis" last night. First, I'm not a fan of Baz Luhrmann's style. This felt like it wanted to be very contemporary, rather than stand the test of time as a film being watched decades down the road. See: Walk The Line. Austin Butler made me a liar -- he nailed it (it's not his fault the ending shot of him getting on the airplane as "Old Elvis" was so bad). I could have done without 90% of the reimagined Elvis cover songs in the movie, but seeing Gary Clark Jr. was a nice surprise!
 
Started the Umbrella Academy a few weeks back. Watched 9 episodes and decided to drop it. 9 one hour episodes and the story and plot did not really process much, so I don't have hope for the rest of the series. So last weekend I started The Expanse. A much better series with actual progression of the story and plot. I'm on episode 7 and have been enjoying it. That and every ship I see in the series, I can't help to wish it was in the game Hardspace: Shipbreakes to tear down!
 
The expanse is awesome. Seasons 1-2 are a bit slow, but from 3 onwards it really picks up.
 
Watched Top Gun Maverick.... well 2/3 anyway. I fell asleep just long enough to miss the ending. LOL....
