It's dropping because the global economy is in the sh*tter, but OPEC (and non-OPEC countries - the US gets most of its oil from Canada, Mexico, Venezuela, and the UK) isn't cutting production. If it's all the same, I'd rather have a job and pay $4 than have no job and pay $2.
Same here. Gas got up to $4.50/gal here. The thing is that gas was so scarce, you were almost happy to pay it if you could fill your tank. The whole thing was crazy. You had lines at gas stations 1/4 mile long at 11:00 pm on weeknights in some cases.
I'm not sure how to react, $2 a gallon down the street from me. Can't be sure if this is good or bad, i know it's good for me but what the hell does it mean in the overall picture. ???
Over at Hugo Chavez's Citgo it's $1.78 a gallon for Regular...and remains empty most of the time.
The average at Wawa is $1.83 for Regular
I paid $2.19 for 93 octane Premium yesterday
I still can't figure out why there is such a big difference between Regular and Premium...used to be .20, now it's .30 - .40 on average between the two. I keep asking, but now one has an answer....other than it's the only way for the Oil Companies to gather a little more profit from high output 4 & 6 cylinder engines that are so popular.
The new version of the MSN Auto 'Gas Finder' is pretty cool...check it out for your area.
Still $ 2.19 at my BP in Pittsburgh. Based on the wholesale cost of gas, it should be selling for $ 1.69 per gallon. Someone is in our pockets.
