I come across an occasional plugged cigar, it's a hassle but I can almost always save the cigar. Earlier in my smoking "career" that wasn't the case but now I am much better at being able to tell why it's plugged and know how to fix it.
I think that is actually rarely the problem. 90% of the...
I never said torches are more reliable, I said my extend is more reliable. And it is much more reliable than any other none dupont lighter I've tried.
By no means do I rush through lighting, I just find that the less time my cigar spends in direct flame the better it is. With a soft single...
The flame on a bic is to damn small, it just takes too long to light up a cigar that way. My preference is a good soft light, so I use my Dupont Gatsby, it was pricey but worth it. After that I prefer to use a torch and for that I use my extend, again I paid more for it than a ronson, but it...
I have the full size, the tank is plenty big and it lights reliably every time. The only time it wont light on the first attempt is if its really low or I need to bleed the tank.
IMHO the extra cost is made up for in the quality and reliability.
My lighters are both Dupont, 1 Extend and 1 Gatsby. The extend is a torch and flame length is constant until the very end of the tank. The Gatsby is a soft flame and I have to open up the valve a bit every so often as the tank empties. I don't know about SOP for other lighters but I want to...
I bought them last October at a Pepin event, I still have a few, but it's been at least a month and a half since I smoked one.
If I remember correctly fresh it had the expected Pepin spice and was full bodied but was also very well balanced and the nicotine kick was pretty well hidden. Since...
Take a deep breath and be calm. Mold is not as big a deal as it is sometimes made out to be. What color was it? It was white you should be fine if it had color to it then you can worry.
Test your hygros and like haguc said more cedar would help. Another thing to consider is what temp. are...
Great review, I love the My Father line it's just a great blend. I bought a box of the lancero's awhile ago but I have to disagree about this:
As good as it was right out of the box, it ages amazingly and relatively quickly (the lanceros do anyway)
Again, great review.
I would look at the following sites:
Cigarmony - Mark is a BOTL here and is highly respected by the members hes got some good ones.
Southside Cigar - Dave is also a BOTL here and has hooked up a number of guys (myself included) with some good stuff.
Cheap Humidors - I've bought 2 humidors here...
I turned 21 this past year and had the same difficulty on more than a couple occasions.
Your best bet is to go to some of the retailers that post here on the boards. Not quite as convenient as being able to browse the stock and see prices but A. You will be supporting BOTL's B. You will be...
The only time I've drunk at work it was encouraged by both my then employer (a good friend of mine) who is one of the 2 primary owners of that business and his partner the other primary owner. It was a very casual job at a very small business.
It depends on why your storing those specific cigars.
If you want to age them I find 70% is best. If you plan on smoking them relatively soon I prefer 65% but some prefer 60%.
Some people keep multiple humidors at different RH's, some for aging and some for smoking.
I've smoked one and didn't care for it.
I think it is just a gimmick used to move product. The cigar was very mild (for me) and didn't have much flavor. If a cigar is going to be that mild I need it to have some great flavors, this one just didn't have it.
That's funny, I'm the complete opposite. For other manufacturers I prefer natural over maduro (generally) but for Padrons I prefer maduro. I have been told the leaf Padron uses for their maduro cigars is not a true maduro leaf.
The #35 is a great cigar probably my favorite non cc short smoke.
I bought a box at a Pepin event last week and got around to smoking one last night. I don't know about the other sizes but the lancero is really good. Very well balanced with some great flavors, my favorite Pepin yet.
