How about some Oliva Connecticut Reserves? Since most are casual smokers, you don't want to go too full bodied. The Oliva CT's have great flavor for smoking every now and then. They are priced great as well.

I know he put 6 coats of something on it to protect the wood because I told him that it would be outside. He said the wood in the bowl of the ashtray wouldn't get burn marks unless you smash your cigar out. I don't do that, so I am not worried about it.

There is a guy on another forum who makes custom ashtrays. I got it today and it is awesome! Here is a shot with the flash on. You can see the 6 coats of finish on it: I love it. I tested it out tonight and it works great!

I had one of these this afternoon. It was really a good cigar. I still think these will be better with a little time on them.
