Info request on which Padron was given out at Big Smoke

I attended the Big Smoke on Friday night (November 9, 2012) in Las Vegas. I am working through smoking all the cigars that i picked up and had the Padron that was given out. It was a robusto, basic Padron band, I don't remember if they said what it was when I got it. I really liked this cigar...

    Novice Reviews

This will be my first post/review on this section. After a run-in a few years ago with a tumbler of Laphroaig, I just wasn't ready for the overpowering strength of single malts, but after learning that I had started with a powerhouse. I decided to come back and try to learn scotches as I have...

I am going on a cruise and was considering using a gladware container to take a few cigars with me as well as to bring some home using the humidistick or someother type of humidifier. What do you think. I will be bring home about 25 cigars, but it has to be small and compact. Any ideas? It is to...

    I want a good sampler!

I have a similar post going on the discussion board. Hope some of you can help me. I will be on a cruise next month visiting St Maarteen. I know that I need to go to the La Casa Del Habano to ensure that I will get authentic Cubans. I will be going to the one on the Dutch side. My favorite...

    Wow, Wow, Wow Ashton VSG

I had not tried any truly premium smokes till the Ashton VSG. Now I can see what all the hype is about. Before this my favorite all time was a CAO la Anniversaire Cameroon. Then I had the VSG. What a smoke. What other types of cigars are similar? I sure can't afford 8-10 dollars a stick all the...

    How to cut a torpedo?

Where do you make the cut on a torpedo cigar? I have been working on regular ones to get a cut that opens about 75 to 80 % of the available area. Do I use this same rule of thumb on torpedos?

How do you get credit for posts?

I joined on 12/21. I have been posting and joining in discussions like crazy. I just noticed that my post credit showed 15. Is the # just for topics started, or is it supposed to count each time you add a reply to a discussion already going? The other possibility is that do you get credited at a...

    Is this normal?

Ok, I smoked a 1998 CAO la'anniversarie on Tuesday night, however I couldn't finish it all, (lasted a good hour and still had about a third to go). So, I let it go out and wrapped it in a baggie till today when I could finish it. On Tuesday it was a great mellow smoke that I thorougly enjoyed...

    Allow me to introduce myself!

I am a newbie! There I said it. Not only to this forum but to the world of cigars. I have very little experience, but want to learn. I have smoked a few nice cigars on my cruise vacations, and enjoyed the experience. So I now have a humidor, stocked with some mild cigars, CAO's that I won on my...

    Can these be saved?

I won some nice cigars on a cruise about six weeks ago. I did not have anyplace to put them other than a dark drawer. I just got a humidor. They were wrapped in cellophane. By putting them in a humidor with 70% RH will they moisten up again or once they are dried out they are dry?
