I don't have a lot of experience with good rum, but my local had this on sale recently, so I picked up a bottle. I had a few glasses and enjoyed it. It is finally getting warm enough to smoke outside here in Kansas, so I grabbed a DPG Cuban Classic and poured a glass of the Ron. Now I get it...
Sorry no pictures. Kansas recently started getting Nogne O, Haandbryggeriet, Mikkeller, and a bunch of other expensive beers that I can't pronounce. I'd recommend it for all the RIS fans out there.
500ml bottle, Batch 90. Bottle conditioned. Served in a snifter. Poured a deep, opaque...
I was pretty excited when I saw this at a local store when I was picking up a bunch of wine and beer for a trip to the lake. It must have just hit the shelves, because the whole BrewDog line up had no prices on the shelves. When I looked on my receipt to see what the price was, it wasn't on...
Sorry no pictures. Here's the hype from the brewery:
"Ola Dubh (or ‘Black Oil’) is a collaboration between Harviestoun Brewery and Highland Park, Distiller of the Year*. It is based on Harviestoun’s award-winning Old Engine Oil. With more than a stylistic nod to the classic Imperial Porters...
Left Hand isn't my favorite Colorado brewery, though I do really enjoy the Milk Stout, so I've always passed on the corked big beers. They're pretty pricey. I'm a mark for Barley Wine so I pulled the trigger on this one. 50% is aged in Oak casks. 2007 Vintage. I had a real tough time with the...
We took the kids to Chicago for Spring Break, did the museums, Sears Tower and St. Patrick's Day. Dad's part of the trip was a Blackhawks game and dinner at Goose Island. It was awesome. The food was pub fare, but the beer was amazing! I started off with a Dirty Goose, a hoppy brown ale.

Every time I smoke one of these, they seem to me the closest you'll get to the flavor of a Cuban in a domestic cigar.
I'd smoke them more often if they weren't so expensive, but every time I do, I really enjoy them.

CP and KC's Outlaw Cigar was featured in the business section of the KC Star today:

Maybe one day, I'll actually make it to one of these events!
This is a great brew if you can find it. I call it dessert in a glass, because it has so much chocolate and vanilla flavor.
The label has some comments from the brewer. He says it is a great beer to have with a cigar, but he couldn't find one that could hold up to the beer.
I thought I would...
