    But which Cigar Oasis?

Either that or just buy it at Atlantic Cigar for $139 without a group buy. I've also seen it on Cigarbid for around $129. Ron

    Johnson Controller Question

Okay then - I don't have the controller yet (getting ready to order) - but I would say to look at the controller and see if it lists what it's amp rating is. Then look at both fridges and see what the start up amp rating is - the controller will need to higher than the combined total of both...

    I need some spanish cedar.

I found the cost of cedar at my local hardwoods dealer to be a lot less than ordering from Rockler and Woodcraft. I don't have a Rocklers close but do have a Woodcraft (www.woodcraft.com) close to me. As mentioned - search for a hardwoods dealer in your area. Ron

    Johnson Controller Question

So as I understand it - you want to plug both into the one controller. Yet you only have one temp probe that will have to go inside one of the units. Therefore if the controller could handle the startup of each unit at the same time - you would be running each fridge the same amount of time -...

    Humidor Modifications

You know there is a lot of interest in this subject. Personally I didn't know anyone had even tried to use Thermoelectrics in a humidor until after I stumbled upon the idea to do mine after looking at my Coleman cooler. Next thing I know I'm getting emails off my webpage and finding all sorts...

    Humidor Modifications

Nice Cabinet! Insulation is always going to play a factor in any cooling situation. When I first started a design for my cabinet - I considered using a sandwhich type design with insulation. Using the KISS principle I decided instead just to increase the thickness of the wood to at least 1"...

    Humidor Modifications

Actually Allen and I are using the same exact cooler. They can be very expensive depending on where you get them from - but use the link that he posted and you can get one for $40 bucks to include both heatsinks. His pictures show what he did - if you follow the link in my sig below - you can...

    Humidor Modifications

Allen is smarter than us on this - so he is using it - I don't know crap about it so I am not. Most manufactors info that I read said that you can either use an on/off switch or the ppm. I have taken apart a Coleman cooler and all it had was a simple thermal switch - nothing else. My views on...

    Humidor Modifications

In the simplest terms you would need the cooler such as the one pictured ($40) - two fans ($10) - a 12 volt power supply at 5 amps ($$75 to $100) and a thermostat of some type ($20). Allen knows a ton more about the control side than I do - hence he was able to use the DDC controller and all as...

    Humidor Modifications

I guess I should go ahead and just install a second one now to make everything easy. My cabinet is about 13.5 cu ft. sooooo - Ron

    Humidor Modifications

Cool deal. As you know we are both using the same cooler - how many cubic feet is your cabinet? I'm still hoping the single one will cool mine. Ron

If I put vipers beads into a nice cigar box...

Does not matter what the count is, how big or small a humi - most people go with 65% - but it's up to whatever your taste's are really.

    OpFTH Pass...AKA The Sandbox Pass

I would like to "add" to the box - but not take anything. If someone say here on the East Coast (or whomever has it last) wouldn't sending a PM to me with an address - I'll send some for inclusion at the right time. Thanks, Ron

Honduran Mahogany can be mistaken for Spanish Cedar sometimes – but in any case – you’re good to go. Either wood is suitable – most people have it in their minds that it has to have Spanish Cedar. Toss in your beads and call it a day. Ron

If I put vipers beads into a nice cigar box...

As long as the seal is pretty good there is no reason why you can't use it. All humi's don't have to have spanish cedar in them. Even it does leak a little more than most humi's - it just means you have to add water a little more often. I say go ahead and do it. Ron
