Since there is another gun thread...

Also don't rule out the Hornady .17 rimfire. I bit more pricey than feeding the .22 but the improved ballistics is generating a strong following in the shooting community. Savage and Ruger both make very nice rifles for this cal.

    Privacy trees for backyard, ideas?

We planted 2' tall Leylands along our north side property line when we built the house in '01. Spaced them about every 6-8'. They are now 20' tall and all filled-in. Great barrier for wind and privacy. The deer are as plentiful as rabbits in my area. Since the farm next door fenced in all...

    Lawn care...fertilizer

As above. In addition: Check your county cooperative extension's web site for recommendations specific to your area for watering. Also, if you go to the Scotts website, enter your e-mail address, zip code, and grass type; they will send you an e-mail several times throughout the year...

    Satellite TV question

Another vote for DirecTV. The service only goes out with HEAVY thunderstorms. Local cable went out much more often before I switched. You should also consider your other telephone / internet / wireless needs as well. Most don't know that DirecTV has a relationship with Verizon. Verizon is...

    Yankee's Fans Step in

Has anyone else noticed the overwhelming destination of former New York pitchers seems to be the city of Chicago? I was watching the Met/Cubs and who do I see sitting on the Cubs bench but Ted Lilly and Jon Lieber. Then across town you have Javiar Vasquez and Jose Contraras. And these are...

    Romeo y Julieta 1875 #2 Petite Belicoso

With lawn cutting season fast approaching, I really like these for when I'm riding around the ranch on my John Deere. Good Luck  This email is exclusively for HotDeals subscribers: "Private Auctions" are not available to the general public and are only accessible through the link...

    Hip Replacement Surgery?

Excellent links noted above. My wife is an OR nurse and one of her sub-specialties is orthopedics. I use to work in critical care and emergency services. My wife's suggestion is to find a surgeon that does a lot of these procedures. Any ortho guy can do the case, but the really good ones get...

    Gun Cost

Sounds to me as if you are talking about a weapon for your mom & grandmother to use, true? If that is the case you can pretty much forget about a 45. Way too big. I'll assume that your family already takes other precautions to keep safe such as good locks on the doors and windows, outdoor...

    Vacationing in Orlando

If you go to the park at Universal Orlando, stop by "Cigarz" in City Walk. Good music, great drinks, and, of course, a large, well-stocked walk-in humidor. Makes for a very nice break. Have fun.

    Chicken Bog

My cousin's wife is from South Carolina. She makes this stuff all the time. Very tasty.

    Anyone use BSafe?

I used the SpectorSoft program. This is a password protected program that runs in the background and will send you an e-mail on a scheduled basis with a record of every web site, e-mail, chat session, etc. It misses nothing. It even snaps a picture of their desktop and any open windows every...

    Humidity too high

One more possibility. I keep my cooler in the basement. When the ambient humidity level is in the basement creeps up, the hygrometer in my "sealed" cooler reads > 65%. Turn on the basement dehumidifer for a couple of days and all returns to normal. This is especially true after a big rain.
